積の微分

積の微分とは,二つの関数の積で表されるような関数の微分についての定理です.
微分計算の基本的なテクニックですのでしっかり使えるようになっておきましょう.

2つの関数$f(x),g(x)$があり微分可能とする.
$h(x)=f(x)g(x)$とすると,

\begin{align}
h'(x) = f'(x)g(x) + f(x)g'(x)
\end{align}

となる.

積の微分の具体例

\begin{align}
(\sin x \cos x)’ &= (\sin x)'(\cos x) + (\sin x)(\cos x)’\lnl
&= (\cos x)(\cos x) + (\sin x)(-\sin x)\lnl
&= \cos^2 x – \sin^2 x
\end{align}

3つ以上の関数の積に拡張する

$n$個の関数$f_1,f_2,\cdots,f_n$の積で表される関数$g$の微分を考える.
各$f_i$は全て微分可能とする.

つまり,

\begin{align}
g(x) = f_1(x)f_2(x)\cdots f_n(x)
\end{align}

とするとき,$g'(x)$は,
\begin{align}
g'(x) &= {f_1}'(x)f_2(x)\cdots f_n(x) + f_1(x){f_2}'(x)\cdots f_n(x) + \cdots + f_1(x)f_2(x)\cdots {f_n}'(x)\lnl
&= \sum_{i=1}^n \left({f_i}'(x)\prod_{j\neq i}f_j(x)\right)
\end{align}

となる.
